IKEA Recall...

If you are the proud owner of jars of herring you might have bought at IKEA on your way home from furnishing your pied-a-terre near Hollywood Beach, you better listen. IKEA has issued a recall notice, due to shards of broken glass being found in the jars:

IKEA has received two reports where customers have found a large piece of glass in IKEA FOOD labeled jars of marinated herring. There has been no report of injuries.

Safety is always a priority at IKEA and as a precautionary measure IKEA is recalling IKEA FOOD labeled jars of marinated herring (DILLSILL, SENAPSSILL, INLAGD SILL) with a “Best Before” Date 13-02-2008 or earlier. The “Best Before” Date (DD-MM-YYYY) is to be found on the label directly above the bar code.

The IKEA FOOD labeled marinated herring is sold at Swedish Food Markets at IKEA stores. Only IKEA FOOD labeled jars of marinated herring with a “Best Before” Date 02-13-2008 or earlier are involved in the recall. IKEA FOOD labeled marinated herring with “Best Before” Date 02-14-2008 and later are not affected by the recall. Abba labeled marinated herring is also not affected by the recall.

Thanks for the heads up Design Boner!
